  • What is the best method of storing unused powders
The best way to store granules that have been opened from their vaccuum sealed bag is to make sure to keep moisture out of them. A air tight jar works great or if you have a vacccuum sealer, you can reseal the grains in a new vaccum bag. Keep them in a dark area for safe keeeping!
  • Moisture? Is it ok to get cold spark powders wet?
Moisture will permanently destroy the Ti powder. In fact, water can actually activate the Ti powder and make them start fire. So keep them way away from any source of it!
  • I have left over powder from a different manufactuerer. We have ran out of time on our machine, and we dont want to toss it out. Any Suggestions?
Sure! If your machine is listed as one of our supportive models, the best solution would be to purchase our individual RFID cards and add time back onto your machine!
  • Is SparkIt cold spark powders as good a quality as the manufacturers like Showven and Sparktacular?
Our cold spark powders are a high purity composition alloy and are as good or better then many top name brands! We take great pride and work diligently to source only the finest raw materials to formulate our powders. We assure you they are the best there is to offer!
  • Will SparkIt granules cause any problems if the manufacturere says to only use their granules in their machines. Will they damage the machine?
Alot of manufactures use this tactic to keep you buying their consumables. Its a big part of their business model. SparkIt consumables will absoultly not damage your cold spark machines. They will match the performance of some and outperform others. We only use high grade powders and never include any combusibiles like tetrawhatever.
  • What is ziconium tetrachloride (ZrCl4)?
zirconium tetrachloride (ZrCl4)is a combustible additive that some manufacturers of cold spark consumables add into their formulation to brighten the spark and have them burn a bit longer. The issue with ZzCl4 or any other combustible is the possibility of powders still being ignited on their way down which can result in "hot spark fallout" falling onto the ground possibly burning or setting nearby material or carpets etc. on fire! We usually find theses types of compounds added to low quality Titanium grains. We absolutely do not add any combustible agent to any of our powders. Instead we can achieve the same high brightness of spark by utilizing only premium high grade powders suitable for cold spark machines
